Digital trading card game Shadow Era offers physical cards for free

Hanoi, Vietnam – Wulven Game Studios today is pleased to announce that pre-orders of physical cards for the Shadow Era trading card game have far exceeded expectations. In the first week since becoming available, more than 700 people have placed orders totaling over $30,000.

Shadow Era is a digital trading card game now with 2 million players worldwide on iOS, Android, PC, Mac and online in a web browser. Hailed by Touch Arcade as a “fantastic representation of what freemium games should be,” it has proven to be a hit with players and generated a large loyal community.

“It’s great to see the support we’re getting for physical cards,” explained Wulven CEO Kyle Poole. “It allows us to break into other mediums and create a high quality product, and also give something back to our biggest fans.”

Using “crowd funding” to raise money, Wulven is offering bonuses to all pre-orders when certain funding goals are met. At the current level, people will get free copies of every foil card made, redeemable codes for in-game currency in the physical decks, and an immediate bonus of matching their purchase amount with in-game currency, essentially making the physical cards free. Future bonuses include playmats, posters, collector’s tins, and special tokens and counters.

Device Requirements:
* iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad
* Requires iOS 3.2 or later
* 78.1 MB

Pricing and Availability:
Shadow Era 1.293 on iOS is free and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Games category. In-App Purchases are available to obtain new cards quickly, although the game is free to play using gold earned through gameplay.
