{"id":2161,"date":"2011-09-08T03:11:30","date_gmt":"2011-09-08T03:11:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tapgamers.com\/?p=2161"},"modified":"2011-09-08T03:11:30","modified_gmt":"2011-09-08T03:11:30","slug":"2161","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tapgamers.com\/?p=2161","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Following in the footsteps of the United States Department of Justice, Sprint has announced a lawsuit that looks to block the proposed acquisition of T-Mobile by AT&amp;T.<\/p>\n<p>Sprint, a longtime opponent of the buyout, believes the purchase of T-Mobile by AT&amp;T would be bad for both the consumer and the United States wireless market. Sprint noted that the acquisition would harm retail and corporate consumers by slowing innovation and forcing higher prices.<\/p>\n<p>The company has said since the beginning that the purchase would \u00e2\u20ac\u0153entrench the duopoly control of AT&amp;T and Verizon\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and concentrate nearly 80% of the market between two companies.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Sprint opposes AT&amp;T\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s proposed takeover of T-Mobile,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d explained Sprint\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Susan Haller. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153With today\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s legal action, we are continuing that advocacy on behalf of consumers and competition, and expect to contribute our expertise and resources in proving that the proposed transaction is illegal.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Justice additionally filed a lawsuit against the proposed transaction last week, calling the move \u00e2\u20ac\u0153monopolistic\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and against the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153best interests\u00e2\u20ac\u009d of the everyday consumer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Following in the footsteps of the United States Department of Justice, Sprint has announced a lawsuit that looks to block the proposed acquisition of T-Mobile by AT&amp;T.
