Chillingo Announces New FPS

Chillingo, the publisher behind smash hits including Cut the Rope and Guerilla Bob, confirmed that they are currently working to bring the PC first person shooter Painkiller to the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. The original Painkiller, developed by People Can Fly, was known most for its incredible action and violence.

Painkiller casts gamers as a recently deceased man who died in a car crash with his wife.  Before that becomes too depressing, you’re whirled into purgatory where you catch wind of an impending invasion of the living worlds by the generals of Lucifer.  How to escape this hellish place?  Kill everything thats looking to do the same to you.

‘Painkiller’ isn’t just about blood and gore, though, it’s also about the ridiculous weaponry that you are provided with. Instead of guns shooting bullets, offered machinery launches spinning blades and explosive rounds that tear your enemies apart.

Although the game isn’t releasing until March, Chillingo’s latest creation is certainly a game to put on your radar.
