Twitter Update Fixes Quick Bar Debacle

Twitter has released a minor update to its iOS app with a few bug fixes, security improvements, and one major improvement: The troubled “Quick Bar” has been fixed.

A few days ago Twitter released version 3.3 of its iPhone app with a new Quick Bar which shows trending topics and promoted Tweets at the top of your screen. The problem is the Quick Bar actually covered up other incoming and outgoing messages at the time, and there was no way to remove the functionality manually.

Twitter 3.3.1 still shows trending and promoted topics, but instead of overlapping the messages you might actually want to see, the new Quick Bar hangs out above the search bar and only takes up screen real estate when you scroll all the way to the top of your screen. It’s far less obtrusive.
